Club sweaters, low membership fees and activity offers for people who need community. These are some of the things that the support from Safedrive Reward will contribute to at Ensjø in Oslo.
When Roger Oddvar Eide won 100,000 kroner in the Safedrive Reward, he also got the opportunity to make others happy. The choice fell on the Eide Hunting and Fishing Association, which will now receive 100,000 kroner to create new experiences and activities for young people.
– No, dean, as we say in Møre!
That was the spontaneous reaction when Berit from Safedrive called Roger Oddvar Eide with the message that he had won 100,000 kroner in the Safedrive Reward.
– When the lady on the phone told me I had won, I thought she was kidding. But luckily she didn't. A real thrill, says Roger.
The prize came in handy. Roger and his wife were celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary in May, and he had already decided that some of the winnings would be used to make her look a little extra fancy.
But Roger also had the opportunity to please many more people.
As the monthly winner of the Safedrive Reward, he could choose a local team or association that would receive an additional 100,000 kroner from Safedrive's Tryggve fund.
The choice fell on Eide Hunting and Fishing Association.
– Eide Hunting and Fishing Association is doing a fantastic job on many levels. It is a local association with a lot of activity that means a lot to many people. I especially think it is great that they have so many good and inclusive activities for young people, says Roger.
The money will help give young people from the age of 14 more opportunities to experience hunting, fishing and outdoor activities in safe and inclusive environments.
The association wants to offer training in small game hunting, trapping, predator courses and clay pigeon shooting, with knowledgeable instructors who ensure good training and weapon safety.
But the offer is about more than learning how to hunt and shoot. It is also about mastery, nature experiences and community. About gathering around the campfire, cooking together and finding belonging in an environment where there is room for more people.
Roger Oddvar Eide (left) won 100,000 kroner in the Safedrive Reward and chose to give the Eide Hunting and Fishing Association the same amount through the Tryggve Fund. Here with the association's deputy chairman, Hans Martin Bull Iversen.
For deputy chairman Hans Martin Bull Iversen, the support means that the association has the opportunity to create even more activity.
– It is not really possible to describe how much this means. Like most associations, we are experiencing more demanding times financially. This allows us to create more activity among children, young people and adults, he says.
As a thank you for Roger choosing them, the association presented flowers, chocolates and a letter of thanks.
– On behalf of the Eide Hunting and Fishing Association, we would like to say thank you very much for the gift that you have decided to give us. It gives us great opportunities for new events for children, young people and adults. Words fall short in this context. So thank you very much, Roger, said Iversen.
Roger, for his part, had a simple appeal to the recipients:
– Thank you yourself, and enjoy them. Let the young people have an extra pizza at an event, he said.
Roger has almost 50 years of experience behind the wheel and actively uses Safedrive to get early notification of what is happening along the road.
– I use Safedrive a lot. That way I become aware of things happening along the road early on. Both animals and various things that come into the road. It is a great reassurance, he says.
With Safedrive in the car, drivers receive alerts about animals, obstacles and other dangerous situations along the road. The alerts come from other road users who share information about what they encounter on their journey.
This is how the community of Safedrive users helps more people be better prepared for what awaits around the next bend.

Roger won 100,000 kroner because he signed up for Safedrive Reward and drove according to the speed limit.
Every week we draw a lucky winner who has received a green driving score with us. In the weekly draws, a driver wins 10,000 kroner, and every fourth week there is an extra lucky winner who gets a whopping 100,000 kroner.
But the prize for the monthly winners doesn't stop there.
The monthly winner also gets to decide which local, socially beneficial cause will receive an additional 100,000 kroner from the Tryggve Fund.
For Roger, it meant both a pleasant surprise on his own account and the opportunity to give something back to the local community.
For the Eide Hunting and Fishing Association, this means new opportunities to create activity, mastery and good experiences for young people.
And maybe there will also be an extra pizza at the next event.
With Safedrive Reward, you can be rewarded for doing something you should be doing anyway: keeping to the speed limit.
Every week you have the opportunity to win money for driving safely in Norway's most important car game - Safedrive Reward.
