Processing of personal data in Safedrive AS

When you use our website and/or are in contact with us via chat, email, order goods from us or use a Safedrive device, Safedrive will process personal data about you. Below you will therefore find information about the personal data we collect, why we do this and your rights in relation to the processing of your personal data.

1. Why we collect personal data and what kind of information we collect

We collect and use your personal data for different purposes depending on how we come or are in contact with you. We collect the following personal data for the purposes set out here:

  1. To send out marketing, newsletters and provide information about our business: Email address and telephone number. The processing is based on an agreement with you.
  2. Respond to inquiries that come in to us. Name, telephone number, email address and any personal data that may result from the inquiry. The processing of personal data is based on a balancing of interests. We have assessed that this is often necessary for us to help you with your query.
  3. Provide notification of speed camera and police checks. Geolocation and any personal data in this regard as a result of the software. The processing of personal data is based on a balancing of interests. We have assessed that it is necessary for us to collect and use your geolocation. In order for the software to function as intended, we need to have your location at and after start-up of your car with a connected Safedrive device.

2. Disclosure of personal data to others

We will not disclose your personal data to others unless there is a legal basis for such disclosure. Examples of such a basis would typically be an agreement with you or a legal basis that requires us to disclose the information.

3. Storage time

We store your personal data with us for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which the personal data was collected.

This means, for example, that personal data that we process on the basis of your consent will be deleted if you withdraw your consent. Personal data we process to fulfill an agreement with you will be deleted when the agreement has been fulfilled and all obligations arising from the contractual relationship have been fulfilled.

4. Your rights when we process personal data about you

You have the right to demand access to, rectification or erasure of the personal data we process about you. You also have the right to demand limited processing, object to the processing and demand the right to data portability. To exercise your rights, you must send us an email to [email protected]. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, and at the latest within 30 days.

We will ask you to verify your identity or provide additional information before we allow you to exercise your rights with us. We do this to ensure that we only provide access to your personal data to you - and not someone pretending to be you.

You may at any time withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data by us. The easiest way to do this is to send an e-mail to [email protected].

5. Complaints

If you believe that our processing of personal data does not comply with what we have described here or that we are otherwise in breach of data protection legislation, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.

6. Changes

If there are changes to our services or changes to the regulations on the processing of personal data, this may result in changes to the information you have provided here. If we have your contact details, we will make you aware of these changes. Otherwise, updated information will always be readily available on our website.
