DRIVE, formerly Drive for Life, is a non-profit social entrepreneur that provides drive and inspiration to children and young people who need it most. Since 2009, they have worked tirelessly to create safer communities. Now they are entering into a national partnership with Safedrive to give even more children and young people an opportunity to become the best version of themselves.
The collaboration will facilitate programs and activities for children and young people aged 10-25 years. The goal behind these measures is to reduce exclusion, mental health problems and risky behavior by strengthening a sense of accomplishment, positive interests and belonging through an inclusive community.
Magnus Wester, CEO of Safedrive, praises the work DRIVE does and emphasizes the importance of preventive measures.
- We are impressed and moved by the fantastic work DRIVE is doing, and look forward to being an active contributor going forward. As a national partner, we want to help DRIVE reach even more communities and become even more visible. We have positive experiences with local initiatives aimed at young people, and we know that the DRIVE concept gives young people who need it a facilitated arena where they feel a greater sense of belonging.
Founder of DRIVE, and former European Rallycross Champion, Knut Ove Børseth, elaborates on the importance of the collaboration with Safedrive and what collaborations with the business sector means.
- We are very pleased to have Safedrive join the DRIVE family. Ensuring cooperation with partners such as Safedrive is very important for our efforts and our activity programs around the country.
– The target group for DRIVE’s programs and activities is approximately the 20% of young people aged 10-25 years who face the most difficulties and who are not doing well in their lives. Our programs and activities facilitate positive affirmations, security, and solidarity for these young people. We achieve this with the support of approved DRIVE companies and close collaboration with national partners like Safedrive.
DRIVE currently offers activities to a large number of children and young people every week, throughout the year. This work has made a significant difference, and based on DRIVE's activity results from 2021, Veritas estimated the societal benefit to be approximately NOK 140 million that year. Going forward DRIVE will work towards a goal of NOK 500 million in total added societal benefit - a goal Knut Ove Børseth hopes to achieve.
- Our results document that DRIVE's work is effective and life-changing for many individuals, families and communities. We have achieved a great deal, but we are clear that together with our partners, companies and the business community, we must work hard to reach an even broader audience and make an even greater difference for those in need. We have a target of NOK 500 million in total added societal benefit, and I am determined that we can achieve this.
