Over 100,000 Norwegians are now driving with Safedrive in their cars

Just one year ago, the company set a goal of 100,000 members in Norway by the end of 2023. Now, another ambitious goal has been achieved, but the company has no plans to rest on its laurels.

Magnus Wester at Safedrive is very proud of the latest user figures.

- This is very gratifying, and undoubtedly a major milestone for us. Just one year ago, in October 2022, we surpassed 60,000 users, and now we can already celebrate surpassing 100,000 users. This is an increase of almost 70%, confirming that a significant number of Norwegian drivers see value in our services.

This is according to Magnus Wester, CEO of Safedrive.

If comparing these figures with the number of actual users of each device, which often account for multiple individuals per household, the actual number of users will be much higher.

– Many of our members confirm having more than one user in the family, and considering that the Norwegian car fleet averages 1.6 cars per household, we have reason to believe that the actual number is likely over 150,000 users.

A number that benefits everyone on the road

- These are numbers that will undoubtedly benefit the community. Our services are entirely dependent on an active community to provide the most accurate alerts possible. With each new member, the quality and coverage of our service improve a little more.

Wester points out that the recent user figures will benefit everyone - not necessarily just Safedrive users.

- Our users are clear that they become more conscious of their speed and behavior in traffic. This clearly benefits drivers who don't use Safedrive as well. Even in remote areas, we experience excellent coverage.

A happy team from Safedrive celebrated 100,000 users at the Oslo Motor Show in October.

A true community in strong growth

Safedrive often meets members at trade fairs and events, and Wester confirms that these encounters show that the community represents a good cross-section of the population.

- We often meet our members when we travel around the country representing Safedrive. Here, we encounter people of all ages and from all walks of life, proving that our services have a broad appeal. We meet everyone from young, new drivers to experienced professional drivers - and everything in between.

- The common denominator among those we meet is a desire to feel safer along the road, and the opportunity the services provide to help each other on the road. These are feedbacks that truly warm our hearts, says Wester.

Even though Safedrive has surpassed 100,000 active users, there is little evidence that growth is slowing down. The company recently participated in this year's Oslo Motorshow, where they set a sales record for the third year in a row.

Exciting times ahead

Wester continues, stating that they have no plans to rest on their laurels, and the company has many news in the pipeline.

- 2023 has been an exciting and eventful year for us at Safedrive. We have launched new software that gives users access to a speedometer with speed limits from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, and we have recently introduced a benefits program where all our members get access to unique member offers via My page.

- At the same time, we aim to create added value for our members, so we have a lot of exciting things in store. We look forward to sharing even more news before long!
