A new hazard warning feature, increased turnover, and celebrity visits were among the highlights for the Namsos-based company in 2021.

Good results despite challenges

2021 was a year of good results and, not least, great experiences for Safedrive - despite the pandemic and a global shortage of important microchips.

The company has been busy over the past 12 months, including the launch of new features for Safedrive Pro, which has boosted sales significantly, and the acquisition of a valuable distribution deal with Power.

At the same time, general manager Magnus Wester and his staff have also had time for enjoyable activities outside the office, such as going to the Oslo Motor Show and hosting Herman Flesvig and Mikkel Niva when they recorded a live podcast in Namsos.

- "This has really been an eventful year for us," says Wester.

The podcast can be heard in its entirety on NRK Radio. NRK also followed Herman and Mikkel on their trip to Namsos. Friminutt goes to Namsos can be seen on NRK TV.

Launched hazard warning function

However, it wasn't just chance and circumstance that made Safedrive a bigger name in the market in 2021.

During the year, the company launched a brand new feature for Safedrive Pro: Hazard Alert. With this feature, the warning system collects information about hazards and obstacles in the roadway and alerts the driver to risk elements they need to watch out for.

- "Hazard warning really highlights how Safedrive Pro can help make traffic safer. We're very pleased with the feedback we've received since the launch," says Wester.

He refers to a recent survey conducted by the company, which showed that 37 percent of users bought Safedrive Pro precisely because of the new hazard warning function.

Exciting plans for 2022

The business year ended with a grand Christmas party for Safedrive's employees. TIX itself was hired as entertainment, which set the bar high for Safedrive's plans for the new year.

There are a lot of exciting things happening in 2022, and further development of features for Safedrive Pro will of course take center stage.

- However, our main goal for this year will be the same as last year: We will make traffic safer so that Norway reaches the zero vision and no lives are lost in traffic," Wester concludes.
