Safedrive is expanding its ambassador initiative and strengthening the team with one of the Nordic region's most popular snowmobilers, Maria Sandberg. Get to know the superstar from Evenskjer better!
This week, employees at Safedrive in Namsos set aside an entire working day to call businesses in Namdalen to raise money for the 2024 telethon, which supports the Children's Cancer Society. The result was overwhelming.

For the third year in a row, Safedrive made an effort for the telethon, when employees at the head office in Namsos replaced regular work tasks with telephones to companies in Namdalen.
This year's campaign goes to the Children's Cancer Society and will help establish family houses near the hospitals in Tromsø, Bergen, Trondheim and Oslo where seriously ill children can be with their families.
Magnus Wester, founder and CEO of Safedrive, was clearly touched by the effort:
- "I'm very touched and proud when, for the third year in a row, all the salespeople at Safedrive wanted to work a full day without pay to raise money for a good cause. As a company, we also gave up a full day's sales.
The campaign, a collaboration between Safedrive and Namdal Business Association, shows a strong commitment to social responsibility. Wester emphasizes the importance of this:
- Safedrive is about community. A community that looks after each other. Our involvement in the telethon for the Children's Cancer Society is a natural extension of our commitment to safety and care.
Marte Sollien, General Manager of Namdal Business Association, is impressed with the result, especially considering the challenging times many businesses are facing:
- "In a difficult time for the business community, I think it's great to raise over half a million kroner. I hadn't expected that, considering how demanding it is for many companies in Namdalen," she says.
Sollien adds that the contributions ranged from NOK 300 to NOK 12,500, and emphasizes that all contributions, regardless of size, are valuable.
Wester sees this day as more than just a fundraiser. He sees it as an investment in the company's future and the well-being of its employees:
- Many wise heads will surely think that giving up a daily turnover of NOK 1 million in order to do this is excessive. We look at it differently. We think that the combination of using both the head and the heart is what really creates the best results over time.
He continues:
- I'm convinced that this is the way to do it. We most likely only have one journey here on earth and money in itself has no value. It's about everyone who has the opportunity to be kind to each other and make the world a slightly better place.
The campaign shows that business can play an important role in supporting good causes, even in economically challenging times. For Wester and his employees, it has been a meaningful day that extends far beyond ordinary business goals.
Wester concludes with a reflection that sums up the day:
- This was a fantastic day at work and I'm more excited than ever to go to work tomorrow. This feels meaningful.
