Magnus Fyrileiv Holmvassdal from Namsos has recently completed his apprenticeship in sales and service, and passed the vocational exam with top marks.

Magnus Fyrileiv Holmvassdal passed the sales and service exam with top marks. Supervisor Berit Øie has followed him closely throughout the apprenticeship.

– We have to admit that we were almost as excited as Magnus himself. Not because we doubted for a second his efforts or qualities, but because this was also our very first professional exam as an apprentice company. In other words, it was not only Magnus who was to be assessed, but also us – as supervisors and as a workplace. When he not only passes, but does so with top marks, it is first and foremost well-deserved proof of what a skilled professional Magnus has become. But it is also confirmation that together we can build good professionals for the future, says operations manager Mathias Nervik.

As an employer, we at Safedrive see the apprenticeship scheme as an important social mission. It is about giving young people the opportunity to build their careers and skills, about taking responsibility as an employer and creating safe, developing workplaces, and not least about contributing to the industry gaining more skilled employees.

Close cooperation

Magnus has had his apprenticeship in our customer service department, where he has worked with everything from complaints and returns to shipments and sales.

– Working at Safedrive is very special, we work closely together and help each other with what is needed. I am left with a lot of experience, both about how to make a sale and about the entire process until the unit is shipped. And you will be hard-pressed to find better colleagues. Here you always get help, and we work together to become better, says Magnus.

He also highlights the environment as an important reason why Safedrive was chosen:

– I had a contract with a local telecoms store at the same time, but there was no doubt that this was where I wanted to work. I quit there to give it my all at Safedrive.

Well prepared for the professional exam

After two years as an apprentice, it was finally time for the professional exam, and even though his nerves were showing, Magnus felt well prepared.

– I have worked in several departments and learned most of the basics about the product, the sales process and how we work in customer service both during and outside of phone hours. I also received good support from my colleagues, and especially from my supervisor Berit Øie. This made me feel confident when the test started, says Magnus.

Safedrive's first apprentice

For Safedrive, this is a historic milestone. As an employer, we see it as an important societal role to train skilled workers. Magnus is the very first apprentice in the company, and his results set the standard for the way forward.

– At the same time, this is also confirmation that we at Safedrive have a culture and a community that provides room for success. Here, it is not only allowed to be good, but the team around you also ensures that. And in this context, Magnus's supervisor, Berit Øie, deserves an extra big thank you. Her warmth, professional weight and close follow-up have been absolutely crucial in this journey, concludes Nervik.
