A former European rallycross champion, founder of one of Norway's most important youth organizations, and a fearless voice for road safety, Knut Ove Børseth is now one of Safedrive's official ambassadors.

A true bridge builder between speed and responsibility

– I am very happy about the collaboration with Safedrive, says Knut Ove. Through the sport we meet many car and motorcycle enthusiasts, both young and old. Now I also get to contribute with my experience from the government side – and that makes the collaboration even more meaningful.

Knut Ove is not only known from the rallycross circuit, where he became Norwegian champion in 2007 and European champion in 2009 – he is also the founder of what is now called DRIVE (formerly Kjør For Livet). For over 15 years, the organization has worked to give children and young people a sense of community, a sense of accomplishment and new paths to choose – through motorsport and activity offerings across the country.

Together with Safedrive, Drive has established programs for youth throughout Norway, and in 2024, Safedrive was named "National Partner of the Year" for its community engagement.

– We share the same values: safety, inclusion and community along the way, says Knut Ove.

An ambassador with impact

Knut Ove has previously been regional manager of Trygg Trafikk (Sør-Trøndelag) and has worked closely with directorates and ministries within transport and society for over 15 years. His unique combination of motorsport, politics and community work makes him an ambassador with credibility and weight.

– It is possible to love speed and excitement – and at the same time be passionate about road safety. It is about respect and responsibility, both on and off the track.

A yellow community – from drifting to rallycross

With Tor-Anders Ringnes in drifting and Maria Sandberg in the snowmobile community, Safedrive has already established itself strongly in motorsport. With Knut Ove on the team and visible in the rallycross community with a fully profiled Safedrive car, the yellow identity is further strengthened.

– We know that many in this community are already happy with Safedrive. Now we hope even more will join Norway's largest community along the road, says Mathias Nervik, Marketing Manager at Safedrive.

In addition to his role as ambassador, Knut Ove will also lead Safedrive's efforts within society and sustainability - with particular focus on traffic safety, cooperation with authorities and work towards the 0 vision.

– The collaboration can mean a lot to many. We will make Safedrive even more relevant to even more people – and work together to ensure that no one is seriously injured or killed in traffic.
