Maria Sandberg is known for her extreme sports and freeriding with snowmobiles. In 2013, she appeared in the video series "RuffRiders" and has since been a visible voice in the community.
Truls Dahl Støber is 23 years old and active in Asker MC-Ravn and MC-Mekken. With experience from both youth work, the motorcycle community and traffic, he has a unique perspective on what creates safer traffic for everyone. He is concerned with safe traffic, meeting young people on the roads and creating an inclusive community around motorcycles and mastery.
Now in May there is extra activity. Both the Russian holiday and the start of the motorcycle season mean lots of people and traffic. It's all about being visible, present and calm.
– Asker MC-Ravn travels out and meets young people, especially now that May 17th is approaching. We won't interfere, just make sure things go well.
MC-Mekken is the second leg of the project, and functions as an extension of the traffic safety work MC-Ravn does out on the roads. Here, young people are invited in every Tuesday to tinker, play billiards, have a hot dog and talk about everything from tinkering to motorcycling.
– It's a place to come and be seen. Safe adults who share your interest. Many people need that.
– I use Safedrive as an important safety measure, along with a helmet and driving equipment. It gives me that little extra warning I need to feel safer.
At a time of year when many people are out and about, and a lot can happen, he believes that margins matter more than people think.
– A little warning is enough to adjust. It gives you the second you need. It's what can make the difference between an accident and a safe trip home.
Truls uses Safedrive both in the car and on the motorcycle.
For Truls, safe driving is about being aware. He finds that being alert makes him more alert – also when it comes to police checks.
– It doesn't mean that I drive faster and therefore just slow down in the zone. Quite the opposite – I am reminded that the police are in traffic, and that I have in mind that I can always be the first.
The warning changes how we relate to traffic, Truls believes. It's not about escaping, but about being ahead of the curve.
The more people who use Safedrive, the better it works. It's the community that provides the value. Truls has driven a lot, both alone and with others, and knows how quickly situations can arise. That's exactly why he encourages everyone to have a Safedrive device in their car or on their bike.
