In Norway, 8 out of 10 people exceed the speed limit, and over 100,000 Norwegians are fined on the road every year. In the last 5 years, 64,000 animals have also been hit by Norwegian drivers. Perhaps it's no wonder that Safedrive Pro has been embraced with open arms in the Norwegian market?

It didn't take long for the Safedrive Pro traffic alarm to become a companion for many drivers. More than 70,000 cars are now equipped with the device, and drivers alert each other to hazards and obstacles along the road. Statistics show that speed, fines and collisions with wild animals are plummeting for traffic alarm users. The company's founder, Magnus Wester, believes it's all about making drivers more aware behind the wheel.

- Even though as many as 8 out of 10 drive too fast, only 1 in 10 do so deliberately. The big culprit is simply inattention. By warning our users about dangers, obstacles, speed cameras, and controls, attention on the road increases, and drivers become more aware of their own speed, says Magnus. He firmly believes that most people want to be law-abiding, and that the traffic alarm helps to do just that.

Magnus Wester believes increased attention behind the wheel leads to safer traffic.

Fresh information
With over 70,000 active Safedrivers on the road, Safedrive likely has the country's most widespread network on Norwegian roads. This means that information is always up to date. Drivers are often the first on the scene to report hazards and obstacles, whether it's a log, a flock of sheep or a large pothole. The company believes that the community along the road is the key to safer traffic.

- Many people have experienced near-accidents along the road. Not being able to warn both oncoming traffic and the drivers coming after you makes you feel uncomfortable. Our traffic alarm solves this in seconds, creating a community on the road that stands together and supports each other, says Wester.

Lots of features - and more on the way
Safedrive continually introduces new features and services. Currently, the Safedrive Pro traffic alarm will alert you to:

- Animals and obstacles in the roadway
- Speed cameras and section speed controls
- All types of controls - except breathalyzer checks

Safedrive is actively developing a range of exciting features and services slated for release in the near future. While the company is cautious about divulging too many details, it emphasizes that these features are in high demand among its existing customers and will contribute to enhanced safety and smarter driving on the road. The traffic alarm updates itself OTA (Over-the-air), ensuring a fully automated process.

How does control warnings contribute to increased traffic safety?
- The Norwegian National Road Policing Service are more visible in traffic than ever before. Unfortunately, the speed, number of fines and driver's license seizures continue to increase. Studies also show that fines do not lead to positive changes in traffic behavior, says Wester.

- The traffic alarm makes you aware of your own driving. It taps you on the shoulder, reminding you to adjust your speed according to road conditions and limits. We know that the traffic alarm, even though it warns of controls, contributes to a lasting and positive awareness of one's driving. It's important to note that the traffic alarm does not warn about breathalyzer checks, he concludes.
