Are you experiencing slow startup of your device?
We recommend that you mount Safedrive Pro to the left of the steering wheel, in the air vent by the side window. For easy installation, use our OBD adapter, which is mounted in the diagnostic socket under the dashboard.
The unit is then left on all the time, even when the ignition is switched off. The unit goes to sleep when inactive and is activated again when you start the car and begin driving.
The OBD adapter has battery protection that cuts off the power if the voltage gets too low. Our device uses little power and can normally be left connected overnight without problems. Since there is a big difference between car models in how low battery voltage they can withstand and still start normally, we still recommend that you disconnect the device if the car is not going to be used for several days.
The diagnostic port (OBD) is normally located under the dashboard, close to where the hood opens. If you are unsure of the location, you can easily find it by searching on Google, for example "OBD location Ford Mondeo 2008".
